One More Week….

One more week.  7 days.  After that time has elapsed, my family and I will have relocated to Early, Texas to continue ministry and life there.  The time seems like forever when thinking of the joys of a new place, but seems instantaneous when faced with the pains of leaving a community and congregation so dear to our hearts.

In sitting and contemplating this paradox, my thoughts have turned to Jesus (a wise place for thoughts to turn regardless of the circumstances) and pondering the struggles He must’ve faced in His “last week.”  Knowing He was returning to paradise and glory must’ve made the time seem to crawl, but the difficulty of leaving His beloved ones behind most assuredly caused feelings of “I just want some more time…”

It does me great good to realize yet one more way that my divine and omnipotent Savior was human…. just like me.  It does great good for all of us to realize that He was, “…tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin.”
(Hebrews 4:15
He knows…. He knows exactly what it feels like…. To lose a loved one… to endure unfair circumstances… To walk a final week of both anticipation and angst… let that drive your love for Him to grow…. and grow… and grow…

Dear God, thank-you for making Him human…
