 | Something Fishy… If you missed the annual community fish-fry this last week, you missed something truly special. Not simply because the food is off-the-charts, but because the couple that puts it on is absolutely amazing. Typically somewhere between 200 and 300 people in the community come and enjoy the feast every year. All the catching and most of the cooking are done by this one Christ-like couple. The ministry of sharing your food and serving strangers is such a clear image of what Christ was like. It’s a night every year marked by laughter, joy, and meeting new people from this community. Jesus knew and modeled long ago that if you took care of people’s hunger in a caring way, they would realize that your concern for them is genuine, and then their hearts will open to being taught about what really matters in life. Thanks, Billy and Teen for teaching us what it means to serve…. What it means to care…. What it means to teach… what it means to imitate Christ. My prayer is that we will have the courage to imitate you… | |
